OUR ORIGIN

The Prinz Gourmetline Srl was founded in 2001.

 

In a separate area of his parents’ butcher’s shop, Michael Schanung began developing a high-quality octopus carpaccio together with the chef Markus Aschbacher. The result made us confident: a fresh, ready-to-serve product without preservatives or binding agents.

 

In 2003, the South Tyroleans took part in the annual Seafood Prix d’Elite competition for new products with their first product, as part of Europe’s largest seafood trade fair in Brussels. The result amazed everyone: best retail and best gastronomy product, healthiest, most practical and most original product as well as best packaging – the previous record of a total of three “Seafood Prix d’Elite Awards” was surpassed by far. Six prizes from a total of seven possible prizes could be pocketed. Only in the category “Best Product Line” could the company not triumph, since there was no product line at that time.

 

Since then, the Prinz Gourmetline Srl has been growing continuously and supplies customers around the world.

We don’t compromise. Our Company Prinz Gourmetline, always want to guarantee the best fish carpaccio. We set high standards both in the selection of raw materials and in processing those. We source our octopus, squids, cuttlefish and prawns from carefully selected suppliers who guarantee quality, transparency and sustainability.

 

However, quality must not only be researched, but also controlled. Our production site has been IFS Food certified since 2009. From the selection of raw materials and their suppliers to processing, storage and delivery, there are strict controls established in the quality management system. Our employees, our most valuable asset, receive regular training. Food safety is close to our heart.
